Three Panamanian provinces start analog switch-off

News from Panama / Friday, January 20th, 2023

Panama, Colon, and Panama Oeste will be the first three provinces to begin the analog switch-off on Monday to implement the television signal, the National Public Service Authority (ASEP) indicated. According to this source, only the new technology that transforms the image, audio, and data into digital information will be implemented in those three regions, leaving behind grayscale and mixed colors.

The ASEP and the television stations launched a program in mid-2022 to prepare the population for the advent of digital signal.

According to the established plan, implementing the digital signal on local television screens covers several phases nationwide.
