Hello Mr. Prozzo, I read your article on organic certifications in Panama from 2017, and I was wondering if there has been any follow up on the development of the certifications. I recently moved to Panama from Ecuador, where there is an abundance of produce that is clearly marked as organic in the stores and which can be obtained easily from local farmers. Now that I am in Panama, I get a lot of different answers as to whether the produce in the tiendas and street markets are grown organically. The organic produce in the markets like Riba Smith and Organica are costly and the variety, at least in Riba Smith and Rey is really lacking. I want to know if I can safely buy produce from the tiendas, if it’s free of pesticides, especially the things on the dirtiest dozen list like celery, berries, peppers and grapes, as these foods are very important to my daily consumption and health.
