Stores and Restaurants Reopen in Panama

News from Panama / Tuesday, October 6th, 2020

After six months of restricted activity, as of September 28th the shopping centers and restaurants reopen their doors to the public.

Due to the outbreak of covid-19, most commercial activities have been suspended since March of this year. Currently, in the context of economic recovery, the government has been relaxing restrictions and more and more sectors are beginning to be reactivated.

The authorization for restaurants, inns and shopping centers to start receiving their customers was made official by Resolution No. 902 of September 24, 2020.

Elcapitalfinanciero.com reviews that the “… Ministerial Resolution states that the activities contemplated in this provision will operate from Monday to Saturday, except in those places where the curfew established by the Ministry of Health (MINSA) is still in effect. Shopping centers will open from 10:00 a.m.

In the case of the workers who will return to their jobs on September 28, the authorities demand that “… they be provided with gel and masks, among other biosafety items, according to the protocols and standards indicated by” the health provisions.
