Uber is Well Received in El Salvador

While Costa Rica still has not defined a legal scheme to regulate the mode of transport offered by Uber, in El Salvador the company has started operations with the government´s approval.

The technology company that offers a private transportation network started operating in San Salvador on May 9, with the backing of the Sánchez Cerén administration.

The vice president of El Salvador, Óscar Ortiz, told Laprensagrafica.com that “… For our country, it is very gratifying to receive Uber, we are sure that Salvadorans will be able to benefit from all the advantages that are brought by companies that use technological advances to improve mobility in the cities, in an efficient, safe and comfortable way.”

Ortiz added: “…We hope that the entry of Uber into our country represents new economic and transportation opportunities for the city.  We are certain that this new investment will be a success.”
