Please consider the viewpoint of a 32-year old Austin Texas welfare recipient who says working is stupid because she gets nearly free housing, food stamps, a welfare check, and other handouts. This system will add to the rapid decline of this great nation in the near future. I am grateful to be living in Panama and could not be happier. I could not live with the knowledge that my tax dollars were going to support people like this.

Living in Panama does not relieve a US “person”
from the obligation to pay taxes, so at least at the
Federal level, your taxes still go in part to
each and every Federal welfare program.
Thomas,
Honestly, what a sap you are! You shill this crap from some neo red-neck, radio station as if it were the gospel. Anyone can call in to a radio station, particularly that one — and, they usually do… It didn’t, for example, cross your mind that she could be some born-again, right wing wacko, calling in to provide fodder for the masses…? Really, are you that much of a rube?
And, let’s just assume that she was legit — that is to say, really a complete slacker — that provides you with the rationale to move to and live in Panama? …that when the U.S. hits a little rough water, you bail?
Do you even know anything about this so-called paradise in which you live? While you sit on your duff up in the mountains, do you know how the majority of the Panamanians are living? Yeah, the economy is blasting away — but on the backs de la gente – and I’m not talking about those well-heeled “expats” fleeing the ghost of Chavez or the Colombian “investors” or U.S. “patriots” — I’m talking about the people…
And, by the way, I am not some kind of limp-wristed, wilting liberal… I am a proud, retired, Airborne Ranger, Special Forces combat vet — and know this area well — from the civil wars of Colombia to Peru to Guatemala to El Salvador. I also know the country of Panama — and love it — and will probably always spend some time here. But I also know what is the greatest country in the world — and I don’t turn my back on it when it needs me…
If you really are an American and proud of your country, then clean up your act and get with the program…
