Significant Continental Forum 2020 AIBA in Panama

With the participation of delegates from 35 countries of the Americas, who represent national commissions and confederations of amateur boxing, this Saturday morning began the Continental Forum of the International Amateur Boxing Association (AIBA), at the convention center of the Westin Playa Bonita Hotel, in Panama City, Panama.

The forum was chaired by AIBA interim president, Dr. Mohamed Moustahsane, from Morocco, who was accompanied at the main table by the Secretary General of the Russian Boxing Federation and Director of the AIBA Marketing Commission, Umar Kremlev, and the President of the American Boxing Confederation (AMBC), Osvaldo Bisbal, from Argentina.

This important international boxing meeting discussed reforms to the AIBA statutes and reviewed the progress of current changes, which include comprehensive inclusion, input and active participation of the member countries and continents of this regulatory entity.

In addition, another important objective of this forum is to promote the union of its members and encourage development programs for amateur boxing, which includes the continuous preparation of trainers, medical seminars, anti-doping and the effective marketing of the organization.

On the first point of the agenda, the president of the Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee, Brian Lewis, spoke on the role of national federations and continental confederations, to facilitate the renewal of administrative processes, in accordance with the requirements of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) .
