Panama: Construction Figures Up to May 2017

In the first five months of the year, the value of new constructions, additions and repairs amounted to $967 million, 24% more than in the same period in 2016.

Figures compiled by the Office of the Comptroller General show that the value of new constructions, additions and repairs between January and May reached $967 million, led by the province of Panama, with $659 million, followed by David, Santiago, Chitré, Aguadulce and La Chorrera, with $125 million.

Regarding the type of construction, new constructions, additions and repairs were registered for $552 million in residential projects, and $415 million in non-residential projects.
