DSS Panama

Disinfection & Sterilization Specialists of Panama

DSS Panama provides advanced and comprehensive disinfection and sterilization solutions that help businesses and private individuals combat the viruses, bacteria, mold and fungus that can develop in the air, on surfaces and on hands.

Microbes, like bacteria, fungi, viruses and algae, are able to grow in environments of all types and on surfaces of all kinds. Some of these microbes contribute to odors, discoloration and mildew. Some are pathogenic and can cause illness.

Today, it is important to go beyond what is visible to the naked eye and control germs on a microbial level. Our  antimicrobial solutions destroy microbes mechanically and prevents the breeding of superbugs – all while protecting against 99.99% of common illness-causing pathogens.

We believe our comprehensive approach to deep sanitation is helping redefine clean.

NIDS Environmental Disinfection Certification

Our Specialist Adrian Prozzo is the first in Panama to join an elite class of technicians who hold the National Institute of Decontamination Specialists (NIDS) environmental disinfection certification. NIDS is the leading institute offering this certification. DSS Panama is the exclusive holder of the NIDS environmental disinfection certification in Panama and is currently the only company to hold this certification in Panama.

Eco Friendly Disinfecting and Sterilization with EPA Registered Disinfecting Products
Distributed with Advanced Electrostatic System and highly effective against dangerous biofilm and microorganisms such as bacteria, mold, mildew, algae, viruses and VOSs (Volatile Organic Compounds)

I. Bionomics
Bionomics is our study of environmental conditions which can harbor bacteria and allow for cross-contamination in buildings including, hospitals, schools, nursing homes, transportation facilities, gymnasiums, residential homes… just about anywhere we live, work and play.

II. Assessment
A Bionomic Assessment is the evaluation of the environmental conditions in buildings and homes which can harbor micro-organisms. By recognizing and identifying areas of contamination, the  Specialist provides recommendations for treatment.

What is Electrostatic Distribution?

Diagram of Disinfection ProcessThe heart of the air-assisted electrostatic sprayer is the patented MaxCharge™ “air-atomizing induction-charging” nozzle, which was invented at the University of Georgia.

Air and liquid enter the rear of the nozzle separately. The air moves through the nozzle under pressure and meets the liquid at the nozzle tip, causing the formation of spray droplets that are 30 to 60 microns in diameter. At the tip of the nozzle is a tiny electrode which applies an electrical charge to the spray.

The electrical charging causes a natural force of attraction between the spray droplets and target surface, similar to the attraction between items of clothing created by the tumbling of a clothes dryer. The attraction to the target’s surfaces relates to Coulomb’s Law, which states that any two charged objects will create a force on each other. The charge on the droplets, though small, pulls the spray towards the target at 75 times the force of gravity. The spray droplets can reverse direction, moving against gravity, to coat all sides of an object.

ESS takes advantage of the principal of physics to achieve better coverage and to lessen the environmental impact by allowing smaller amounts of chemicals to be used. In addition, ESS uses air-assistance to help with spray delivery. Air is necessary in electrostatic spraying to create tiny droplets (30-60 microns, 900 times smaller than conventional sprayers) that can travel in the turbulent airstream into dense areas.

The low pressure, high volume air flow quickly atomizes the liquid into uniform droplets. The small droplets then pass through an electromagnetic field. It is here that each droplet picks up a strong negative charge.

Step 2: The turbulent air stream carries the maximally charged droplets quickly toward the spray target. Because each droplet carries the strong negative charge, they spread out evenly to form a uniform spray cloud upon exiting the MaxCharge™ nozzle tip.

Step 3: Just like the pull of a magnet to a piece of metal, the droplets become more strongly attracted to the target the closer they approach. In fact, the force of attraction is up to 75x that of gravity allowing for complete coverage of hidden surfaces.

What is Covid-19

Coronavirus disease 2019 is an infectious disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2. The disease was first identified in December 2019 in Wuhan, the capital of China’s Hubei province, and has since spread globally, resulting in the ongoing 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic.

What is Mold

A mold or mould is a fungus that grows in the form of multicellular filaments called hyphae. In contrast, fungi that can adopt a single-celled growth habit are called yeasts. Molds are a large and taxonomically diverse number of fungal species in which the growth of hyphae results in discoloration and a fuzzy appearance, especially on food. The network of these tubular branching hyphae, called a mycelium, is considered a single organism.

Benefits of Using DSS

Less Chemical Waste – Testing by four major universities comparing ESS with conventional and air-blast sprayers shows 300% better spray penetration and coverage onto hidden areas of dense foliage. The studies also found that only 15-20% of the spray from conventional or air-blast sprayers ends up on the surfaces, with nearly 60% of the chemical wasted on the ground and less than 3% reaching the underside of the target and other hidden areas.

Environmentally Sound – Reducing chemical waste and using low-toxicity chemicals make your spray environmentally safe and effective. Because ESS units allow you to spray longer with less chemical, exposure to chemical due to constant tank refills is reduced.

Proverb

We find ourselves in a metamorphosis of sorts. Every crisis provides the culture for one.  A lot of us are feeling isolated, cut off from our loved ones, and terribly uncomfortable with the uncertainty of what is to come. A darkness of fear and anxiety closes in on us periodically or incessantly.  We might be mourning the loss of a job or worse, someone we love.  Life as we knew it before this pandemic is over.  We ask the leaders, how long is this going to last? How is the economy going to recover? When will there be a cure? What is the real mortality rate? Why weren’t we better prepared? Why don’t we have more testing available? And their answer continues to be, “We don’t know.”  Just prepare yourself with the best means available!

DSS Panama will prepare you as you reopen your homes and businesses.
