Aside from the school in Panama City, which provides support for 150 boys and girls, the Foundation runs a further two socio-sporting projects in the country, located in Chitré (Herrera province) and Tolé (Chiriquí province). They look after 300 young people at risk of exclusion, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to nearly 500. They are provided with safe recreation spaces and leisure time, moving them away from criminal gangs and the consumption of drugs and alcohol.
The schools foster the students’ wholesome development by using sport as a tool to educate in values such as respect, teamwork, equality and the promotion of healthy lifestyle habits. Beyond teaching values through sport, there are also a range of socio-educational activities, including nutrition workshops.
