Colon Free Zone Continues to Recover

Between January and July 2018 the commercial activity of the free trade zone in Panama generated $12.618 billion, growing 8% over the same period last year.

The administration of the Colon Free Zone (ZLC) reported that ” … the cumulative amount of the first seven months of 2018 was higher than the $11.643.3 billion in the same period in the previous year. 

According to official figures from the FTA, in July of this year alone commercial activity add up to $1.972 billion, which represented an increase of 18% compared to the $1.675 billion reported in the same month in 2017.

Laestrella.com.pa reports that “… When the statistics are disaggregated, it can be seen that imports recorded a movement for $965.3 million last July, with an increase of 18.3% compared to the same month in 2017, according to official data.
