$922 Million in Roadworks Contracts Awarded to build from David to Santiago

President Martinelli continues to live up to his promises of  expanded roadways throughout Panama.

Contracts for $922 million were awarded to five companies for expanding and renovating 185 kilometers of the Inter American Highway.

The value of the works has exceeded the estimate made ??by the Ministry of Economy and Finance of $750 million. The construction company Norberto Odebrecht was awarded 71.24 kilometers from Santiago- Vigui. Its financial proposal was $339.5 million and the MOP’s reference price was $352.8 million.

Meco was awarded a 41 kilometer stretch from Vigui to San Felix, and its proposal was for $226.1 million and the reference price was $235.8 million . The third stretch awarded by the MOP was the San Juan -La Pita section, measuring 41 kilometers which will be expanded and renovated by the consortium CPA (CONALVIAS – RODSA ), who submitted a financial offer of $185 million.

Asociación Accidental C&B, composed of the construction company Urbana SA (Cusa) and Bagatrac won two tenders. The stretch La Pita – David of 19 kilometers with a price of $100.1 million and the San Juan- San Felix stretch of 14 kilometers with an economic proposal of $71.7 million .
