  1. We moved to Panama and at the time the Residency requirement when we applied for residency was $ 600.oo. $ 500.oo for me and $ 100.00 for my wife.

We easily can make it in our Chirique home on that amount. We do make closer to $1500,but,the cost of TV;internet, water, gas and electric is less than $ 100.oo per month and we normally eat one meal a day at a resturant 6/7 days a week. That is still less than $ 25.oo per week. It is true we eat often at Multicafe in David and have the plate of the day and it’s $ 3.20 for both, but,we eat locally too and that is $ 4.50 for two. The largest part on our budget is gasoline.About 25/30 bucks per week.

PS.. A magicjack and skype help big time and a 10 buck phone card a few times a month works as my wife is local and b/ses more that the average expat ! :>)

We also have a home in Costa Rica and the costs there to carry the empty house are equall to Panama’s without t/v ,but, we are comfortable and we try and save 4 to $ 500.oo per month even with both homes. So, maybe were uber frugal, but,Panama is truely affordable !
