Trump and Martinelli Celebrate Opening

News from Panama / Wednesday, July 13th, 2011

Last Wednesday marked the debut of Trump Ocean Club® International Hotel & Tower® Panama, which is TRUMP HOTEL COLLECTION‘s   first international venture. It is now the largest and tallest building in Latin America.   Donald J. Trump and his sons, Donald Jr. and Eric, joined the Panamanian team to officially open the hotel to guests and residents. Trump Ocean Club received a warm welcome by the President of the Republic of Panama, Ricardo Martinelli.

With its beautiful silhouette that emulates a massive sail overlooking Panama Bay, the 72-story building has already redefined the City’s skyline and is a must-see for all those who visit.   Trump Ocean Club®  encompasses a total area of 2.7 million square feet rises 290 meters, making it one of the largest and tallest properties in the region.

Here are the fast facts:

Trump Ocean Club® is truly an impressive study of development in numbers:

  • 290 meters high (one of the tallest in Latin America)
  • 72 stories tall
  • 2.7 million square feet of total gross area (the largest property in Latin America)
  • 18,500 tons of steel reinforcement
  • 123,000 cubic meters of total concrete (enough to build five buildings with 50 floors)
  • 10,000,000 estimated man-hours needed to build the development by the end of construction
  • 5,000,000 feet of cable installed (equivalent to the miles between New York City and St. Louis, Missouri)
  • 1004 total units (635 Residences and Bay Loft as well as 369 Hotel units)
  • 2,500 laborers at peak of construction

Trump Ocean Club® International Hotel & Tower ® Panama (Trump Ocean Club) was developed by Newland International Properties Corp. (Newland). In 2006, Newland began developing Trump Ocean Club in Panama’s exclusive Punta Pacifica peninsula, creating what it is one of the most spectacular developments in Panama’s history.

I am sure that  the developer would say something like, “when people first visit Panama they will go to the Panama Canal, then they will come to my building!”
