Recently Panama has been in the news, more specifically one of our major law firms, Mossak Fonseca. I like what Simon Black at Sovereign Man had to say about all of this.
“The Internet practically exploded Monday morning after a detailed report was published proving that dozens of corrupt politicians around the world have been stealing public funds and hiding the loot overseas.
In other news, the Pope is Catholic.
The real issue is that systems of government routinely put morally bankrupt individuals in control of trillions of dollars of cash.
Seriously, what do people expect is going to happen?
Yet this never seems to be concern. The media outcry always seems to focus on the manner in which public officials hide their assets, not the fact that the funds were stolen to begin with.
This report targets the illicit use of offshore corporations, specifically those set up by a single law firm in Panama.
In reality, this issue hardly boils down to one firm.
There are thousands of law firms all around the world, including in the UK and the United States, that register companies for their clients.
But it’s crazy to presume that corrupt officials and con artists are the only ones who would ever need a company in one of these “shady” jurisdictions.
(Those “shady” jurisdictions, by the way, include Wyoming, South Dakota, and Delaware.) ”
Anyway, let’s go to CNN and the boil down they put out on Tuesday
I am not going into any more of the details as these will occupy the press for many months to come. And then we can get back to watching the political discussions and the Elections!!

Tom. You are 150% correct. I think that’s why we Choose to be in a smaller country. What is the common thread we share. Our age our education our religion our work ethics I’m sure it’s all of that. I can tell you first hand that the business ethics have deteriorated in the States at a pace that durafts the tide movement in Panama ! I don’t know how much longer anyone can continue. the corruption that has been unchecked in the last 10 years has surpassed the last 200 years. The influence the U.S. has world wide is almost criminal and we can only expect the rest of the world to follow this trend as long as the media is equally as corrupt. I’m not sure how we slow it down or that we can. If a liberal gets in next election and puts liberal Supreme Court justices in and changes the balance this will never be the same again . It is really incredible that the world doesn’t acknowledge that there are other law firms and countries that do the same thing, especially the EEUU.
It seems to me that it is a dirty war to discredit Panama, their incredible banking system and their sovereignty.
We seek freedom and privacy here, and someone has electronically invaded Panama.
