A report by the Foreign Trade Promotion Offices says that healthy, gourmet and halal products top the list of foods most demanded by consumers in the country.

From a statement issued by the Foreign Trade Promotion Office (PROCOMER):

A dynamic economy and the high purchasing power of consumers in Singapore opens up opportunities for Costa Rican and Panamanian exporters sending products to this market and other Southeast Asian countries. This follows from a recent market study released today by the Foreign Trade Promotion Office of Costa Rica (PROCOMER).

According to the analysis, finding healthy products is one of the trends mentioned by the importers and distributors who were consulted. Likewise, the consumption of gourmet, artisanal or differentiated products is also growing in the food industry in Singapore. Consumers there are increasingly interested in trying new flavors and sophisticated products, such as some ethnic foods, which are considered gourmet because of their great distinction. Among the many products that belong to this category we can mention gourmet coffee, chocolates, sauces innovative new flavors and some organic products.
