Tender for the construction of the new dock in Puerto Armuelles will begin on August 2

To date, there are 9 national and foreign companies interested in carrying out preliminary studies to present the different offers for the new pier.
On August 2, the bidding for the construction of the new Fiscal Dock of Puerto Armuelles, in the province of Chiriquí, will begin. This was announced by the President of the Republic of Panama, Laurentino Cortizo, after conducting a working tour in this area of ??the country.

The project, which is valued at approximately 20 million dollars, contemplates the construction of a pier approximately 750 meters long, with a capacity to receive vessels of 100 meters in length (length) and a draft or depth of approximately 7 to 8 meters.

To date, there are 9 national and foreign companies interested in carrying out preliminary studies to present the different offers.

“It is a project that will promote commercial and tourist activities, and will generate jobs in the region,” said Cortizo.

According to the authorities, it is estimated that by the end of this year or the beginning of next, the works can begin.
