Spaceship safe at home base, a moment to be proud of!

I can remember as a younger man when I watched the first manned mission to land on the Moon on 20 July 1969 and how the hair on the back of my neck stood up.  I had the same feeling watching the space shuttle Atlantis land in Florida on Thursday, completing the last of 135 missions over 30 years that delivered the Hubble telescope into orbit and helped build the International Space Station.  Speaking of the Space Station, a friend of mine sent me this animation of the Station.  

Look at what happened from 1998 until 2008. In just ten years it has grown and grown.   Watch the pieces come together as they are sent up from Earth. This is the International Space Station (ISS) Assembly diagram, piece by piece.  I had no idea the Space Station had grown to this size.    Click here to watch
