The President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, received on Thursday the visit of the president of the World Bank Group (GBM), David Malpass, who makes an official four-day tour to Latin America and the Caribbean.
Malpass shared with the Panamanian president issues related to global economic challenges, inflation, among others and recognized Panama’s progress in reducing its fiscal deficit, and
Indigenous Peoples and strengthen education.
In this regard, the Panamanian president thanked all the financial support that the World Bank has given to Panama during his administration.
They accompanied President Cortizo Cohen, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Héctor Alexander and Saleh Asvat, National Secretary of the Public Private Association (PPP).
While Malpass was accompanied by Carlos Felipe Jaramillo, vice president of the World Bank for Latin America and the Caribbean; Alfonso García Mora, regional vice president of the IFC for Europe and Latin America and the Caribbean; Michel Kerf, Director for Central America and Rep. Dominican Republic.
