With the certification as a commercial airline by the Civil Aeronautical Authority of Panama, the charter flight company Flytrip expanded its operations, to become the third 100% Panamanian company to enter the domestic flight market.

According to the CEO of Flytrip, Jaime Fernándes, they will initially serve the routes of Bocas del Toro and Isla Contadora, from the Marcos International Terminal to Gelabert in Albrook, and the José Ezequiel Hall airport in Bocas del Toro.

On the cost of flights this will vary depending on the season and number of positions that can be assigned, so they have created three types of categories and as people buy the tickets with longer time they can receive a better cost of them.

“The three categories are three different cost levels, the tickets start at $250 (round trip) and there they continue to rise, depending on the time you are going to make the purchase of it,” Fernández said.

Currently in Panama you can find fares with round-trip flights, on the other airlines such as Copa Airlines and Air Panama that range between US$348 and US$288 respectively.

Fernández mentioned that for this year the airline hopes to expand its destination to Pedasí and connect its aircraft at as many airports as it can, incorporating the dynamics of being able to land at Tocumen Airport with its own assigned door, and its facilities that they have already been able to adapt, to be able to serve their customers.

The CEO of Flytrip, assured that this is an important point because they have grown as a company, adding this new line of business that is the issue of regular flights, with which they are offering the sector in Panama, one more offer to be able to connect.

“For us, the issue of connectivity is important and we have tried to differentiate this company and maintain a high level, our mission is to offer and raise the trip to all the passengers who come to contribute to tourism, that we believe that tourism will have an important growth in these times, and somehow the issue of tourism growth in Panama we are betting a lot to be able to connect it,” Fernández said.

Fernández explained that they currently have three aircraft and that the capacity is up to 30 passengers, that in the future new equipment will come that will increase the capacity and double it. As for the frequency of flights, to Bocas del Toro is daily and to Isla Contadora are Friday and Sunday, with a potential extension to Wednesday, which the schedules depend on the day, but usually they are between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
