It seems that daily we read news that Panama banks are flush with cash, that hydro power plants are expanding to keep up with a doubling in demand, that consumer spending is increasing with the development of a blossoming middle class and foreign investment is increasing with leaps and bounds. Panama is poised for explosive growth and you can see the signs everywhere. From the infrastructure projects in Panama City to road building and airport expansions out here in the Chiriqui Province, Panama is going places fast.
Here are a few of the recent headlines that show me that many people are preparing for another wave of new business investment and tourism in Panama.

I saw this happen before in Miami when I first got into real estate back in 1980 and we went through some incredible changes in the 80’s and 90’s. We had no clue what was in store for us with the growth that occurred after 2000. Granted, the growth did not continue forever and the overbuilding in various market segments hurt the market significantly but even today we see the condo sales in the Miami market now moving quickly and foreign investment increasing significantly as money pours back into the dollar based real estate market and out of Euros. Miami went through a quantum leap and it will happen again as the world heals and the markets settle down. The fundamentals that we have seen in Miami are evident in Panama as well.
The difference here in Panama is that we did not see the financial market meltdown that occurred in the US. Yes, there was an impact and business is not as usual but it will be correcting here sooner than back in the US. When changes are happening quickly and you are sitting on the sidelines, you miss out on opportunities that don’t come along all the time. We are involved in such an opportunity with some friends here in Panama who have a vision. It involves tourism and resort communities strategically placed in key markets in Panama to attract the adventure traveler and enthusiast who is looking for a boutique experience and consistency in quality and value. Destiny Hotels and Resorts is in the news again, this time in Chiriqui where a project will be developed in the future. But for now let’s look at what you can invest in today.
