The rapid response team led by  Health planner Elvis Villarreal, , went door to door, to find out if any of the residents suffered from respiratory problems. If confirmed, the swab test was performed.

“What we are looking for is to stop that transmission line, detecting positive cases, quarantining them, and medicating them,”  said  Villarreal.

He added that the initiative was launched because  Arraiján is the district with the highest number of positive cases in all of Western Panama.

In Panamá Oeste there the towns of  Arraiján Cabecera, Burunga, Vista Alegre, Veracruz, Juan Demóstenes Arosemena,  Cerro Silvestre have  multiple cases.

The visits included promotion to avoid the spread of COVID-19 and, that at the first symptom, residents present themselves to the nearest health facility.
