The Government of Panama inaugurated the cruise port of Amador, located on Isla Perico, on the road of Amador.

The terminal has an investment of US$206 million and will facilitate the arrival of tourists in the 2023-2024 season, which began in September 2023 with the arrival of a ship from Costa Rica.

In September 2023, the Amador Cruise Terminal began its season with 49 reservations, of which 31 are transit cruises and 18 base port cruises.

The new Cruise Terminal will be able to serve boats with a capacity of 5,000 passengers.

The port of Amador, delivered to the Panama Maritime Authority (AMP) by the Pacific Cruises Consortium, has 50 reservations, of which 20 are home port.

During his speech, President Laurentino Cortizo pointed out that this new cruise terminal on the Pacific coast will increase the country’s competitiveness as a great hub of the Americas in cruise issues.

“It is a terminal with the highest standards of technology so that travelers feel safe when they arrive in the country during their visit,” the president noted.

Cortizo added that this new cruise terminal will boost tourism development and generate new routes that will benefit hotel activity, restaurants, carriers, supply, among others with the firm purpose of placing the country as the best Home Port in Latin America.
