Directorate General of the Industrial Property Registry
The General Directorate of the Industrial Property Registry (DIGERPI) authorized by Resolution No. 36 of April 30, 2020, the reception of new trademark applications and petitions for procedures for trademark applications already filed and registered by e-mail.
All the documents that are presented electronically must be physically provided once DIGERPI resumes attention to the public in its offices.
The presentation through email of proceedings related to applications or registrations of Patents of Invention, Utility Models and Industrial Models or Designs will not be accepted.
Panama Maritime Authority
By means of Administrative Resolution No. 059-2020 of April 22, 2020, the Panama Maritime Authority (AMP) authorizes the electronic filing of:
- Public Deeds containing acts or contracts of property title and/or liens on vessels.
- Preliminary registrations of property titles and/or liens on vessels.
It has also enabled the electronic issuance of Certificates of Ownership and Liens and certified copies and/or copy stamp of documents that are registered therein.
The digital procedures of the AMP must be validated by a qualified electronic signature, in those cases where this has been established.
