Panama: $75 million More for ITSE Construction

The National Economic Council has approved funds to build the Higher Technical Institute of the East, in addition to the $150 million granted by Banco CAF.

From a statement issued by the Ministry of Economy and Finance: 

In order to strengthen education and technical training in the eastern area of the country, (CENA) National Economic Council has approved B / .75 million dollars to finance the Higher Technical Institute of the East (ITSE), which will be located in Tocumen.

Construction of the ITSE principally aims to provide educational opportunities for 10 thousand students of both sexes in two daytime shifts and create coordination with the labor sector. The teaching team will be made up the 250 teachers with high academic levels.

Among the facilities or modalities that the new institute will provide are post-secondary education, two year programs, practical experience, modern structure, integration into the labor market, emphasis on soft skills, and in addition facilities will be granted for internships in Singapore and the United Kingdom.

The ITSE will consist of a board that includes ministers, the Secretariat of Goals, the rector of the Technological University of Panama, private sector representatives, a representative of the President of the Republic, general coordination and commissions.
