Two minds who think alike!

An article that appeared in the Dialogue caught my eye, this one by Alfonso Prat-Gay who was governor of Argentina’s central bank 2002-04.  He discusses how kicking the can down the road ends up causing more trouble than dealing with issues head on.  This article is timely, considering the fact that we are certain to see Greece default and possibly the rest of the PIGS too.   He offers suggestions on how the Eurozone could deal with their problems.  Speaking of kicking the can down the road, can someone back in the US tell me where the can is on that road?

Just after I finished reading that article another one came out in the CNBC news in an discussion by William Rhodes who addresses the fact that European policymakers grappling with problems in Greece, Portugal, Ireland and Spain should follow the path set by the Uruguayan government a decade ago.  Oh well, we have a lot of experience here south of the border to share with the rest of the world .
