Juan Valdez has announced it will accelerate its expansion plan in Panama, in line with the internationalisation strategy it has achieved in countries such as Ecuador, Spain, Turkey, among others.
After several years of operation in the Panamanian market and with the aim of continuing to capitalise on consumers locally, the coffee company, together with its allied franchisee, plans to reach 11 stores by mid-2023.
“Panama is a country with which we share many traditions. It has a high percentage of the Colombian population and is a market with many growth options. For these reasons, expanding our value offer is a unique opportunity to connect more people with the brand, through the experience we provide with the quality of our coffee,” says Sebastián Mejía, International Vice President of Juan Valdez.
To date, the Colombian company has seven stores in different shopping centres in Panama City and plans, in the long term, to increase its presence in Central America. According to data from the national government of Central America, this is a territory that today registers a per capita coffee consumption of about five kilograms.
“We are a franchise that has completed more than 10 years working to make the quality of this prestigious coffee brand visible, both in Bolivia and Panama,” says Gonzalo Calderón, General Manager of Juan Valdez Panama S.A.
“Soon we will have 30 stores between these two countries. For this reason, we are proud to announce that we will continue to expand our offer in the Central American country, since, without a doubt, this represents an opportunity for more people from other territories to fall in love with this grain, the flagship product of Colombians.”
With this expansion plan, Juan Valdez confirms the commitment to take its premium 100 per cent Colombian coffee to more corners of the world and, in this way, praise the work of the more than 540,000 coffee-growing families.
