More Imported Furniture in the Panamanian Market

In the first half of 2019 the country reported $59 million in purchases of home and office furniture, an amount that exceeds in 13% compared to the same period in 2018.

Variation in Imports
Between the first half of 2018 and the same period in 2019, the value of home and office furniture imports into Panama increased 13%, from $52.8 million to $59.4 million.

For the periods in question, imports from Brazil also increased from $2.5 million to $3.5 million.

Origin of Imports
From January to June 2019, 23% of the value imported came from China, 13% from the USA, 10% from Italy, 9% from the Panama Free Zone, 6% from Colombia and 6% from Brazil.

Brazil is one of the markets of origin of the imports that has grown the most for the months in question in the last eight years. In 2012 it represented 3% of the total value imported, and by 2019 it had risen to 6%.
