I just dusted off this post from last year as I am headed back out to stay at Sport Fish Panama and fish!! Click on the first picture to see this fantastic place in the Golfo de Chiriqui.

Here is what happens each year at this time when the tuna start balling bait.

I have fished with Captain Shane Jarvis for a number of years now and I can truly say that he has the best fishing operation in Panama, HANDS DOWN!!

Last year, I had some friends visiting Boquete again and to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary I invited them to experience Sport Fish Panama and Shane’s Island Lodge on Isla Paridas.  It is close to the fish and a real Eden with few to no people in sight.

His platforms are 33 foot World Cats and a third smaller boat.  He now has a dozen plus beds and the next group after us was a group of 9 guys.

We did get into the fish and caught a great assortment of Dorado or Mahi, Mullet Sanpper and a nice big Yellow Fin Tuna.  Marjane caught two huge Dorado.  Click on the picture to see how happy she was.

Marjane’s other Dorado was also huge!

We put Bill on a big Yellow Fin Tuna and he was in heaven.  We came across a log and  I have experienced this before on several occasions but none as alive as this one was, with bait, Mullet Snapper, Tuna, Jacks and huge Bull Sharks. Click on the video below see the action.
