CSS launches two units to perform robotic surgeries

The Social Security Fund (CSS) placed Panama at the forefront in the Latin American region, since it is the only country that has two units to perform robotic surgery in the public health sector.

With the acquisition of this new technology, in less than 48 hours, two patients who were operated on by robotic surgery in the Health City, were discharged by surgeons Miguel Cáceres and Elías Bodden,

He said that “the recovery has been faster and less painful.”

Meanwhile, Alfredo Lammie, who underwent prostate surgery, described the intervention as “successful” since, the same day after the operation, he was able to get up, walk and eat without any problem. “This is wonderful,” said the patient.

The rapid recovery is one of the advantages offered by this new technology, in addition to being minimally invasive, generates little bleeding and does not leave large scars.
