    For the two most rapidly growing (by GDP measure, FWIW) countries not to have an open border for more things besides electricity is ludicrous. Both countries could benefit hugely by trade from a road rather than the expensive means used today. Of course, it would mean putting aside the common Latino prejudice against more competition which keeps both places relatively poorer. Joining the two countries would do much more to bring down prices than the ill-conceived price controls brought in by the the new commie-style govt in Panama.
