Good news for the district of Puerto Armuelles and its battered economy. The Chiquita Panama company announced that it will work again with banana producers in this region of the province of ChiriquÃ.
Through a statement, the banana company announced the decision, pointing out that it reinforces its commitment of more than 120 years to development.
The agreement will take effect from next January, as it was known from the source.
“From the month of January, about 50 weekly containers from Puerto Armuelles will be exported to the first-order markets served by Chiquita in the world,” the note adds.
To close, the statement indicates that, “with the acquisition of the fruit of this banana area, Chiquita Panama contributes to the social and economic well-being of Puerto Armuelles, reinforcing its commitment of more than 120 years to the sustainable development of the productive sector and the promotion of economic growth in Panama.”
