Bid 4 Boquete, Chiriqui’s biggest charity event, kicked off its 2013 season with a boutique clothing sale on Sunday, January 5, in downtown Boquete. The high-end apparel, culled from thousands of donations, earned approximately $2000 toward this year’s goal. Clothing which did not sell at the four-hour event will be featured again in a special section of the clothing area at the main event on Sunday, February 10, at the Arco Iris room at the fairgrounds. Beginning at noon and featuring a silent auction, bake sale, raffles, children’s activities, food and drink, and the popular rummage sale of clothing and household items, it is the community’s biggest annual sale event. There is no charge for admission, and the event closes at 5:00 p.m.

The big weekend begins, however, on Saturday, February 9, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with an Art, Jewelry, and Home Décor sale at the BCP facility. At 5:00 p.m., also at BCP, the festive wine tasting begins, complete with hors d’ouevres and live music by Dr. Rhody and his girls, followed by the Live Auction at 7:00. Tickets for the wine tasting/live auction are $20, limited, and available at Mailboxes, Etc. or the Tuesday morning market at BCP.

How about dining at the Bot Castle???

Royal Formal 5 course Dinner Party for 6 at the Boquete  Castle home of Tom & Caroline Bot during February or March 2013. The festivities start with a champagne welcome at 6 pm. No special diets except vegetarian. Dress formal and bring a festive spirit.
