Assembly launches a public hearing to discuss the repeal of the tourism incentives law

The National Assembly began public hearings to discuss the repeal of laws 122 of December 31, 2019 and 314 of June 20, 2022 that dictate rules on tourist incentives.

This meeting was requested by businessmen, promoters of investors and representatives of tourism companies, and expressed that the discussion has to be comprehensive, which will ensure that the Assembly has a decision with respect, tolerance and time.

This first hearing was the attendees expressing their positions and concerns regarding the repeal of this project.

Deputy Adames asked the representatives of the government to present numbers of how much it means to grant tax incentives, while the Perredista deputy Gonzalo Gonzáles objected the repeal of this bill on the grounds that it will have retroactive effects and will go against those stated in the Constitution and the Civil Code.

Laws 122 of December 31, 2019 and 314 of June 20, 2022 that dictate rules on tourist incentives, after the President of the Republic Laurentino Cortizo in a press conference ordered the repeal of these controversial laws.
