An Evening With The Red Head (Wife-Approved)

News from Panama / Thursday, April 26th, 2012

I just love this story.  A friend of mine from the US was trying to trade his property in the US for something down here.  He told me that he had been to Panama over 20 years ago and decided that while he was here, he and his partner would invest some of their hard earned commissions in something that they could not spend and could tap (pun intended) into the investment when the time was right. Well they could have planted a teak farm but that would be boring so they decided to start distilling rum and started to tap the kegs in later years.   I told him that I would reserve judgement until he would send me a bottle for me to test, hah!

Well he never sent me the rum but he did send me a note:

Panama Red Won The Gold At Miami Rum Renaissance Last Week !!!

How cool is that!  Hey Jim, I am still waiting for my bottle!!

Here is a drink they named A Panama Red Sky.=  orange juice , Guava soda, Panama Red   Delicioso!!!

Maybe he will throw in a bottle of the 25 year old rum called Panamonte that sells for $400 per bottle back in the US.

Rum
is experiencing a

The Miami Rum Renaissance Festival is one of the world’s premier international rum events, presenting a unique and exciting celebration of the fine arts of distillation, maturing and blending fine cane spirits.
