Susie and I went to Las Lajas Beach Resort for the weekend and the weather was incredible!  We go there often as it is only an hour and a half from Boquete on the new PanAm Highway.

This is one of the reasons for choosing Boquete as our home base. Live in the cool mountains with eternal spring weather and be at the beach in an hour and a half.  While there are plenty of beaches to choose from, Las Lajas is or favorite.  Swimmer friendly, miles of empty beachfront.  We would not trade this equation for anything.

Las Lajas Beach Resort is very simple, comfortable and the best rate for a beach hotel in Panama.  Situated directly on the beach, they offer a great pool, swim up bar, beach bar and restaurant.  I had a Balboa Beer and grilled Tuna when we arrived and that set the pace for a great time.  The menu is varied and offers many options.  The gals and guys that work here are extremely service oriented and you will go home with a wide smile on your face!  For a short time the rate was $70 per night but that will change shortly.  Even in Season, the rates remain reasonable.

When we left, Susie said to me “look, the cooks are at the fishmongers truck”.  They were buying the days fresh seafood so I grabbed by cooler and walked over to see what was fresh that day. We bought 2 pounds of prawns for $4 per pound and decided that the weekend was complete, so we headed home.
