77% of companies in Panama plan to hire staff during 2023

According to Konzerta’s Balance 2022 and 2023 expectations survey of Human Resources specialists, 77% of companies in Panama plan to hire new staff during 2023, a number above the region’s average of 63%.

Panama and Peru are among the countries that plan to hire new talent by the highest percentage in 2023 with 77%, followed by Argentina with 75% and Chile with 63% remaining in the region’s average.

María Alejandra Cruz, Country Manager of Konzerta, explained that 77% of the Panamanian companies surveyed plan to incorporate new talent during this year and 83% plan to do so by increasing their staff by 5% or more, these data allow to project a labor market with a lot of activity and an improvement in the economy for this year that begins.

Among other results of the survey, 56% of Human Resources professionals in Panama say that salaries will increase this year, 54% of respondents intend to make an increase of 5%, 20% 10%, 13% will increase by 15%, and the other 13% will do so according to inflation.

“In 2022, most organizations faced a new stage that many called the return to normality and, again, it was demonstrated how indispensable the work of the Human Resources teams is,” Cruz adds.

In the region, for 43% of professionals 2022 was good, for 29% regular, for 20% very good, for 6% bad and for 2% very bad. 63% of the people surveyed have a positive balance sheet for 2022 compared to only 8% who have a negative balance sheet.
