The Tourism Authority of Panama is putting out to tender the study, design, construction and equipment of a convention center in the province of Chiriqui.
Panama Government Purchase 2018-1-45-0-04-LV-013192:
“The Project consists in the design and construction of a Convention Center measuring approximately 6000 square meters and improvements to the site, including parking, landscaping, public spaces, signage and access roads described in these documents, for a global amount reflected in the reference price of the General Conditions.
The building will be designed to obtain a high degree of flexibility, defined as the need to allow changes in the size and character of the spaces, as required by a wide variety of events. The Center should work just as well for events that use the entire Center as for multiple simultaneous events with different requirements.
The materials for the interior and exterior of the building must be durable, permanent, resistant to vandalism, easy to maintain and within the limits imposed by operation, building codes and cost vs.life cycle analysis, and comply with international standards.”

This will bring many new tourists to the area. Will need additional hotels to put them up as Boquete already gets full at times and stretches the limits of how many cars can the roads take and how much water and sewer and other facilities can be provided. Of course David can catch much of the overflow. I imagine many new ways of making money with this convention center in place. Panama has the makings of a booming economy. The sky is the limit. Panama is the place to be and the people must prepare. There will be many new middle class citizens and some new rich ones too. There are some drawbacks to this growth but Panama will charge forth bravely. Lots more good jobs for everyone here.
