1 Filmmaker, 400 Acres, 30 Days

News from Panama / Friday, September 13th, 2013

Ben Loomis, the developer of Isla Palenque sent me this cool movie along with a reminder that it is whale watching season.  Despite the afternoon showers, the mornings here are clear and the waters are very calm making it an excellent time to get out on the Ocean.

Isla Palenque is our very own Fantasy Island and I love visiting.  Susie and I last visited with Ben when a reader of my blog came from China to buy a place there.  They are up to 17 reservations and more are coming. Construction on the homes will begin later this year but if you can’t wait, I am offering the Roosevelt Villa that is being used as the resort hotel for now. Buy it as an investment and Ben will guarantee you an 8% return plus you get 40 room nights a year free.  At the current rack rate, that puts your real return over 10%.

Here is the story behind it.  Last year, we put a 26-year-old filmmaker in a tent on our largest beach with his camera gear, a map of Isla Palenque, and a generator-run fridge to keep his rum cold, and gave him 30 days to capture Isla Palenque’s 400 acres, 5 ecosystems, wildlife, natural wonders, and most importantly — its spirit.  More from Ben and Isla Palenque
