Panama: $28 million Ethanol Plant

An Environmental permit has been granted to Central Azucarero La Victoria to build and operate an ethanol production plant in the province of Veraguas.

Now there will be two providers in a market where there is a mandatory requirement to add 5% ethanol to fuels used by vehicles.

Approval of the Environmental Impact Study is part of the application for a license for operating and exploiting an ethanol plant which is currently being processed by the National Energy Secretariat.

Prensa.com noted that “…this construction was supported by the National Environmental Authority (ANAM) last month having approved its environmental impact at category II. ”
