Who and What is Being Built in Panama – June 2016

Roadworks, a school, a transport terminal and a gas service station are some the projects for which environmental impact studies were presented in June 2016.

The report “Construction Projects in Panama“, prepared by the Business Intelligence unit at CentralAmericaData.com, provides an up to date list of major construction projects for which studies environmental impact assessment (EIA) were submitted to the Ministry of Environment in Panama.

The Ministry of Public Works presented an EIA to build a road that will connect the communities currently settled along the existing road from the community of El Guabal in the town of Luis Rio to the community of Calovévora, in the Town of Calovébora, District of Santa Fe, in the Province of Veraguas. The road construction will be made on the same alignment of the existing road and will have a total length of 31.12 km and the estimated investment is $37,522,800.

The Ministry of Education presented an EIA to build in the district of Sona, Veraguas a two – storey rectangular shape building in which classrooms will be distributed around a central courtyard. The land area is 2 hectares and according to the document the investment amounts to $10,267,434.

Super Centro Palenque, S.A. presented an EIA to build in the district of Santa Isabel, Province of Colon a gas service station with an investment of $7,432,200. Central de Transportistas de Coclé S.A. presented an EIA to build in -Penomé province of Cocle- a public transport terminal in an area of 3.5 hectares, the estimated investment is $7,000,000.
