What I am watching Now – Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain

News from Panama / Monday, August 9th, 2021

I have read most of Tony’s books starting with the blockbuster “Kitchen Confidential” and I am now reading “World Travel” that just came out and is the culmination of his travels, places he visited and detailed foodie information for his favorite places around the world.

Roadrunner is a great movie and like Tony, very deep and at times dark.  The last 20 minutes was hard to watch and I could not help but cry for the pain he must have felt the last days of his life.  “It’s not where you go. It’s what you leave behind . . . Chef, writer, adventurer, provocateur: Anthony Bourdain lived his life unabashedly. Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain is an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at how an anonymous chef became a world-renowned cultural icon. From Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Morgan Neville (20 Feet From Stardom, Won’t You Be My Neighbor?), this unflinching look at Bourdain reverberates with his presence, in his own voice and in the way he indelibly impacted the world around him.”

I encourage you to watch it.  Amazon Prime has it streaming.
