The presidents of Panama, José Raúl Mulino, and of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, agreed to open the first Ukrainian embassy in Panama by 2025, in an action that seeks to strengthen diplomatic and commercial relations between the two countries.

This new diplomatic headquarters, located in Panama City, will allow Ukraine to establish a strategic connection with the rest of Latin America.

This agreement took place during the meeting of both presidents, which took place at the headquarters of the United Nations (UN) in New York, where they held a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the war conflict facing the Eastern European nation, in which they agreed to strengthen the ties of cooperation, trade and diplomatics.

After giving a brief explanation of the conflict facing Ukraine, Zelenski also proposed to Mulino to strengthen the cooperation program to provide Panama with technical assistance in the agro-industrial sector and others that can be identified.

For his part, Mulino offered support to Zelenski at the international level, especially now that Panama is a member of the UN Security Council. He also praised the president of Ukraine for having space on his agenda to speak out about the political crisis in Venezuela.

Before the UN General Assembly, Zelenski spoke of a peace formula with ten main points to recover stability and peace in Ukraine. One of the points is the demand for a complete withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine.
