Transport improvements make Panama more accessible than ever

This article appeared in ITCM or Incentive Travel and Corporate Meetings magazine.  Truly, Panama has come of age and will continue to be the HUB of the Americas.

Iberia will increase the frequency of its direct flights from Madrid to Panama from five flights a week to a daily flight from 6 July. This increase, together with the recent addition of direct Air France flights from Paris Charles de Gaulle to Tocumen International Airport three times a week have strengthened the links between the old continent and the Central American region.

Transport has also improved within Panama City with the opening earlier this month of a new Metro system which allows visitors to travel quickly from the main hotel area to the Old Town, the Albrook Shopping Mall, the Seafood Market or the Cinta Costera seafront viaduct, amongst other attractions.

The new metro line runs for 13.7 kms across the city and has 12 modern stations offering ample space as well as lifts and escalators. The air-conditioned trains have capacity for 200 people each.
