Pardo stated that education is one of the fields in which both countries could expand their collaboration, as well as in health, where Cuba stands out for the development of novel medications, vaccines and other medical technologies.
It is important to point out that 11 years after the implementation in Panama of the Cuban literacy method Yo si puedo (Yes, I can), more than 72,000 people have changed their lives through education.
On the other hand, tourism is one of the sectors in which the island encourages the presence of Panamanians, of which more than 16,565 traveled to Cuba in 2017, a figure that is expected to increase this year.
For this purpose, Copa Airlines has seven daily direct flights to Havana, in addition to its weekly itineraries to Santa Clara and Holguin, cities located in the center and east of the country, respectively.
