Toros’ Small Called Up by Panama National Team

Rio Grande Valley FC forward Carlos Small has been named to the Panamanian national team for its upcoming international exhibitions with Honduras on November 16 in Tegucigalpa, Honduras and Ecuador on November 20 to be held at the Estadio Rommel Fernandez in Panama City.

Small was part of the Panamanian U-20 squad in 2015 where he appeared in nine matches and tallied one goal. On February 17, 2016, Small made his international debut for Panama during a friendly match against El Salvador. He scored his first two international goals in a 5-0 victory against Grenada on October 24, 2017.

The 23-year-old scored five goals in 15 appearances for the Toros after his arrival mid-season, putting him tied for second on the team, and also recorded one assist and 18 key passes as he helped Rio Grande Valley produce a solid second half to the regular season.

Small notably set a club-record for the Toros when he scored after just 28 seconds in the side’s contest against Sacramento Republic FC on August 12 at Papa Murphy’s Park.
