With an index of 90.34%, Tocumen International Airport, the main gateway to Panama, was recognized as the most punctual medium airport in the world in 2024 by the global consultancy Cirium surpassing airports such as Brasilia, Osaka-Itami and Santos Dumont.
José Ruiz, general manager of Tocumen, attributed the achievement to the collaboration between the Civil Aeronautics Authority, the airlines and the operational teams. “This recognition positions Panama as a global benchmark in connectivity and punctuality,” he said. Claudio Dutary, Operations Manager, highlighted the importance of continuously measuring and improving operations, with 136,830 evaluated on 93 routes to America and Europe.
Cirium, with more than a century of experience, is a leader in the analysis of data in the air sector, and its evaluation is considered a benchmark in the industry.
