Design modifications and additional works total $99 million more than the original cost of the project being undertaken by Odebrecht, who will now have 14 months to complete construction of Terminal 2.
From a statement issued by the Presidency of Panama:
The Cabinet Council authorized an addendum to the contract signed between the International Airport of Tocumen, S.A. and the company Norberto Odebretch, S.A. for the program to expand the terminal, in order to increase the value of the contract to 99.4 million dollars and grant an extension of 14 additional months for project delivery.
Tocumen S.A. considers the amount agreed a success as it has managed to reduce the price per square meter by more than 20% when compared with the price per square meter of the original contract.
