Take a trip to Paradise

News from Panama / Tuesday, April 24th, 2012

I am taking my wife Susie on a little trip to the Island of Boca Brave, located just across Boca Chica harbor.  We travel to Cala Mia where a friend of ours operates a boutique resort.  Soon he will be off to Turkey where he sails back on a nice big luxury motor-sailer that will be here soon and is already booking charters.  I hope to be one of the first!!

For now though, we cruise on a small panga out to Cala Mia and that sets the tone for the beginning of the adventure.   Here I am going to paraphrase a friend of mine’s words and put the ride in perspective.  There is a slowness to Boca Chica, a rhythm in the way people live day to day.   It’s inevitable that in a few days you will slow down. Your hurry will turn into a cold beer (for 50 cents), waiting for the local water taxi to pick you up and take you to visit Boca Brava, an island that everybody talks about with good reason. When you get to the dock,  the fisherman that has been waiting for you doesn’t question why you are late.  There is no need for an explanation: everybody is late.  He starts the engine and somewhere on the way the hum of the engine becomes hypnotic, the ocean slaps against the side of the boat, a light occasional spray covers you. The water is warm, salty, rich and inviting. The ocean translucent, in a nutshell this is Paradise.”

Before we get to Cala Mia, we take you to a private beach that is on the way and show you property that I have for sale (plug).  This is an outstanding buy for $22 per m2 or $2 per square foot for fully titled beachfront property that also fronts on Boca Chica harbor with plans for a pier and boat dock.  Do take a minute and stick your feet in the warm water and sandy beach.

For more on this property click here and for more on this area, contact me as I have a number of lots, homes and tracts of land for sale.

More on Cala Mia next week.
