The newly appointed United States ambassador to Panama, Kevin Marino Cabrera, could arrive in the country at the end of April, President José Raúl Mulino announced.
Mulino detailed that, along with Marino Cabrera, 8 other ambassadors will arrive who are in the process of submitting credentials for approval.
“I think the new United States ambassador will arrive in Panama on April 28,” he said.
With 51 votes in favor and 45 against, Marino Cabrera was elected by the US Senate to represent them in Panama.
The 34-year-old politician, born in Miami, of Cuban parents, had been commissioner of Miami-Dade County before being nominated by President Donald Trump for that diplomatic post.
