Professor Jorge R. Arosemena, Executive President of the City of Knowledge Foundation signed the agreement with The Millennium Project, “to implement the Foundation’s decision to create the conditions in the City of Knowledge to develop foresight skills and leadership,” said Professor Arosemena. “This new partnership will enable the connection between researchers and scientists, as well as decision makers and public authorities, private sector and civil society, with other futurists on a global level.” Dr. Gabino Ayarza Sánchez, Research Manager of the City of Knowledge will be the national contact point in Panama with The Millennium Project.
The Knowledge City, located in the former U.S. Army Fort Clayton is creating a new kind of collaboration among academic research, business, and international organizations. “The innovation ecosystem that exists in the City of Knowledge presents the conditions and capabilities for Future Research in partnership with the other 55 Nodes of The Millennium Project, which will have positive impacts on Panama and the world, said Dr. Gabino Ayarza Sánchez. “We will identify people in Panama and the region who are working on foresight and link foresight organizations with the City of Knowledge Foundation to develop foresight studies and applications of futures research methodologies.”

The City of Knowledge Foundation manages the City of Knowledge campus that has 120 hectares with 236 buildings. It has 195 affiliated entities that have signed an agreement with the Foundation, whose innovative activities are related to six work areas: Biosciences, Human Development, Business Management and Entrepreneurship, Environmental Management, Global Services, and Communication and Information Technologies. The City of Knowledge Foundation maintains multiple strategic alliances with domestic and foreign institutions with which it shares interests and knowledge. These partnerships constitute its internal, external, and global networks.
The Millennium Project is a global participatory think tank connecting 56 Nodes around the world that identify important long-range challenges and strategies, and initiate and conduct foresight studies, workshops, symposiums, and advanced training.
